Its been 5 years since an update... What have we been doing? How are we doing?
My husband, Scott, has made heaps of progress and hardly ever uses his cane any more, his health finally stablized and he has been hospital free for 6 1/2 years!! We are so proud of how well he has done and the progress he has made. He takes walks varying from a 10 minute to an hour long depending on the weather and how he is feeling that day.
Our eldest son, Alex, got married March 2015 to his lovely bride, Alyssa. I'll upload pictures from the lovely ceremony once I figure out how to tie my two Google accounts together. They are currently living in Dayton, Ohio where they both work and its about a 30 minute drive to Cedarville University where Alex is finishing up his scholastic endeavors for graphic design.
Matthew has started his home school journey as a sophomore in high school. It has been a learning experience for us all thus far and exciting as well. Its amazing how much more he can accomplish when working at his pace versus the hectic pace the public school sets.
I have switched occupations from store manager at Starbucks to grocery receiving at Wal-Mart. I will be honest and say I really miss Starbucks and the respect they show and treat their partners with. Wal-Mart could learn a lot from them but is more focused on how to grow bigger for less money.
In January, Matthew and I will be on a short term mission trip to the Dominican Republic as part of the team from Grace Bible Church which partners with Solid Rock Missions. This past week the Dominican and Haiti were hit hard by Hurricane Matthew. Here is a link of some of the photos: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/caribbean-countries-prepare-hurricane-matthew-gallery-1.2814877?pmSlide=1.2818399 Please pray for all those who where impacted by this hurricane and that Matthew and I will be a positive light of Christ to all those we reach.
Our family is learning flexibility is key and it is our faith in God and His endurance that holds us together.
