It has been a year since my last personal post, and what a year it has been.
God has blessed me with two new positions to learn from at work, in April I started as training coordinator in the Lake Delton store, I had been in grocery receiving for five years, and in November I was promoted to personnel coordinator in Portage. I still enjoy teaching Sunday School to junior through senior high and co-leading Awana with Scott.
Matthew has experienced work outside the home, both were experiences he learned from, some of those things were what he was not called to do. This late spring will find him graduating from high school. Matthew continues to help with Awana.
Scott has spent time helping our neighbors build their home, care for their yard, and teaching Matthew things around the house. Scott continues to lead Awana with me and sub for Sunday School, this month he started working with the middle school youth group.
This week finds us preparing for our mission trip and in prayer for our trip, our nation as the shutdown continues, our church leaders, and our niece (Sammie). We are looking forward to returning to what has become our second home, serving with our family there, and visiting our sponsor child and his family.
As we pack, weigh, re-organize, reweigh our bags it sometimes seems that it is our hearts that need to be lightened. We love our church family and family so much that it hurts to go yet while we are in the DR we are so blessed and welcomed that we long to stay.
We are going where God has called us to serve and we pray that we heed to His will and do not miss the opportunities He places before us. May our words be His words and our thoughts and actions be a reflection of Him in our lives. May we be obedient like Jeremiah and continue to go where he calls us to go.
Jeremiah 1:4-9
"Now the word of the LORD came to me saying, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations." The I said, "Alas, Lord GOD! Behold, I do not know how to speak, because I am a youth." But the LORD said to me, "Do not say, 'I am a youth' because everywhere I send you, you shall go, and all that I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you," declares the LORD. Then the LORD stretched out His hand and touched my mouth, and the LORD said to me, "Behold, I have put my words in your mouth."
Please lift us and our teams up in prayer as we serve Him at home and abroad, that we continue to serve as lights for God with all we come in contact with. Please also pray for our family as we serve in different capacities and have different health conditions we are dealing with.
Our family is learning flexibility is key and it is our faith in God and His endurance that holds us together.
