The Madness of March

I never really understood all the hype about March Madness in Wisconsin, but man I understand it know. Its not the final 4 in boys and girls basketball, the tournaments of wrestling, the districts of hockey, competions for solo/ensemble, judging for fornesics, spring training for track, concerts for band and choir, pep band. No, its not just one of these but the combination of all these going on at the same time, and if your teenager is an artistic athletic type you find yourself combining more than one of these events into a single 24 or 48 hour period.

Wow.

What makes this madness even more maddening is the lack of concern by coaching staff to ensure the kids have their schedules in a timely manner so they can ask off or make plans around the schedule without breaking the plans made with others.

Well that my MADNESS OF MARCH this year, I definitely am taking notes so that next year won't be quite so maddening.

This is a video I took Monday March 9, at An Evening with the Arts. Performing in this video is the freshmen woodwind choir playing "Minuet and March," and my Alex is sitting in the front row playing the baritone saxophne next to one of the professional musicians.

This was an awesome evening in which the large band ensembles performed pieces they were judged on during solo/ensemble Sat, March 7. Also The Roundtree Jazz Combo performed not only their music but also sat within the different ensembles and played along next to the kids. Some of our forensic students shared their pieces during the evening.

Well good night.

  2. You are always running because you help all of us with the running we need to do but can't because of the conflicts in our running.
