The waiting is almost over

January 31, 2019 was my first day back to work after our short term mission trip to the DR. I allowed a couple of days to adjust back into our culture and routine knowing that my first walk into Walmart is overwhelming with choices and questions.  This day was also the day I got the news at a mandatory meeting for all PC/TCs (Personnel and Training Coordinators) in Beaver Dam that our positions were being eliminated and a new position would be created around fall or third quarter, meaning the current 44 positions will probably be 22.  That was it, more details to follow, every few weeks since then we received a little more information, optional training, timeline, etc.  I opted to go for the new position and put my name out there not for just my store but others as well.  This past Thursday, June 20 we finally went through the selection process which was nerve wrecking and very different then what we were expecting.  Some time this week we should hopefully hear our individual options.

The hardest part has been the lack of communication from our regional and market teams and going into an interview with the knowledge that if you do not get selected you have to find a different position because the current one ends August 1, 2019.  Our Market Manager had a shocked expression on his face when we told him it had been 5 months which is sad because earlier
he was surprised not as many current PC/TC opted to go for it... as they went for other roles as they come up looking for job security knowing that there was less positions and seemingly less support.  My team at my past and current store have been very supportive and reassuring.

I have been passing this time by catching up on my quiet time, crocheting, and fun reading.  This past weekend we went to Rice Lake to celebrate Kaila's graduation and were able to help a bit on their new house and set up for the party.

The verses that have resonated with me through this is:

Proverbs 3:5-6

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."                 -NKJV
